About the Role

Emporium Restaurant is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have extensive culinary experience and a deep understanding of traditional dishes, ensuring cultural authenticity while meeting the expectations of modern diners. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences through outstanding food quality, efficient kitchen operations, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and cook a wide variety of dishes in line with menu standards and restaurant quality expectations.

  • Independently manage buffet stations during busy service periods and outdoor catering events.

  • Ensure all food is prepared, presented, and served in a timely and appealing manner.

  • Maintain the highest levels of kitchen hygiene and comply fully with food safety regulations.

  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Develop and refine recipes to enhance the menu and meet customer preferences.

  • Supervise, mentor, and train kitchen staff to foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.

  • Work efficiently under pressure without compromising quality or safety.

  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional culinary experience, with proven expertise in managing buffet stations independently.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of spices, ingredients, and advanced cooking techniques.

  • Certified in Food Hygiene and Safety Training for Catering (UK) and Food Allergy & Intolerance Training.

  • Previous experience in a star-rated tourist hotel or a similar high-pressure, high-standard environment.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing late-night shifts, party hosting, and outdoor catering events independently.

  • Adaptable, self-reliant, and confident in handling all aspects of kitchen operations with minimal supervision.

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • In-depth understanding of UK food safety regulations and hygiene standards.

  • Commitment to maintaining safe, clean, and efficient kitchen workflows in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
