💰 Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Curry Emporium. The successful candidate will be fully responsible for preparing and cooking authentic South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a wide range of traditional South Indian and Sri Lankan dishes
- Handle high-volume food preparation while maintaining quality and consistency
- Ensure excellent presentation and taste across all dishes
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards
- Manage kitchen operations efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Work independently with minimal supervision
Required Culinary Skills
Candidates must have hands-on experience in preparing:
- Koththu Parotta
- Dosa, Idli, Wada
- String Hoppers & Hoppers
- Various Rotis, Naan, and Chapathi
- Vegetable & Meat Curries
- South Asian Rice Dishes
- Traditional Desserts & Sweets
- Street Food Starters (e.g., Ulundu Wade)
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef specializing in South Indian & Sri Lankan cuisine
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations
- Good command of English
- Excellent teamwork and customer service skills
- Willingness to relocate to Uttoxeter, Staffordshire
Working Hours
- 12-hour shifts
- Must be available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
